That week in Atlanta last August nearly broke me

I was working a line maintenance gig on a 737NG and we hit three lightning strike inspections in five days. Each one took about 8 hours with the full high voltage bond check and panel pulls. I remember standing on the ramp at 2 AM with a megohmmeter in my hand, rain soaking through my coveralls, thinking I should have picked a different trade. Then one of the senior guys handed me a dry shirt and said the overtime check would cover a new set of golf clubs. That week made me go from hating lightning jobs to just accepting they're part of the deal. Anyone else have a stretch that changed how you feel about certain checks?

Wow, I read somewhere that lightning strikes happen way more than people think. Brutal week for you!

Honestly, that thing hit about 20 feet from where I was standing in my backyard. I was just trying to get my dog inside because the sky looked weird, and boom, the whole world turned white for a second. My ears rang for a solid two hours and I think I jumped so high I almost left my own body. Now I'm just like, maybe I should start paying more attention to weather warnings instead of just vibing through life. Tbh, I'm not sure if that's a wake up call or just the universe telling me I need a new hobby.
