Tried using a cheaper multimeter for a week. Big mistake.

Picked up a $20 unit off Amazon to keep in my car kit. Got two different resistance readings on the same circuit in five minutes. Anyone else had a budget tool screw up a diagnosis on a nav system?

Man I feel your pain. I've got a drawer full of those cheap multimeters that are basically just for show at this point. Sounds like yours was trying to trick you into swapping out a perfectly good nav unit.

120 bucks at Harbor Freight taught me the same lesson. It's just like buying cheap drill bits - they'll break or fail RIGHT when you need them most, costing you more in time and frustration than the good stuff would've.
