Wire labels finally clicked after watching a teardown video

I always thought label makers were for desk jockeys, but that tear-down of a 737 throttle quadrant on YouTube showed me how quick messy bundles turn into a 2 hour hunt during a 30 minute turnaround, so I bought a $40 labeler and now I'm redoing every box I touch, anyone else skip labels until a job bit them?

The "2 hour hunt during a 30 minute turnaround" line hit me right in the gut, because that was me last week digging through a rat's nest of cables looking for the one that controls the backup beeper. My label maker sat in the box for three months because I thought it was for folks who keep spreadsheets about their spreadsheets. Then I spent a whole afternoon tracing wires with a multimeter and cussing at my own handiwork, and suddenly the $40 felt like the best deal since free pizza at a safety meeting. Now I label everything, even my phone charger, which my wife says is going too far but whatever. I laugh at my old self now, the guy who thought memory was a valid labeling system.
