Ditching the ultralight tent for a hammock in the Smokies, 3 rainy nights
I fought hammocks for years, swore by my ground setup. Then last month in the Smokies, my tent site kept flooding, moved twice, still woke up damp. Borrowed a buddy's hammock for the last 2 nights. Dry, flat sleep, no searching for level ground. Now I'm rethinking my whole pack list, anyone else make the switch and regret the weight?

Man, I feel your pain on the wet-ground struggle, that flood warning in the Smokies is NO joke. Swapping to a hammock after years of tents feels like cheating at first, but once you get that first dry night, it's hard to go back.
