Overheard a ranger say the CDT is 'just a dirt path with opinions' and I can't stop thinking about it
He was talking to a thru-hiker at the Glacier NP visitor center last Friday, said the real challenge isn't elevation but the 2,000 miles of monotony between towns, which made me wonder if my planned 14 day section in Colorado is actually too short to get the 'real' experience, has anyone else felt the route's personality changes that dramatically north vs south?

Two weeks is plenty to decide you both love and hate dirt, trust me. Maybe the real CDT experience is just getting real good at staring at your own feet.
