That $30 Walmart sleeping pad finally gave out on me

I always swore by those cheap blue foam pads because they're basically indestructible. But after 4 trips over 2 years on the Colorado Trail, mine started delaminating and lost all its cushion by mile 60. Now I'm looking at an $80 Therm-a-Rest and wondering if I should have just started there. Anyone else hit a wall with budget gear before upgrading?

You're talking about buying cheap tools or electronics right? Cause I got a budget drill once and the thing caught fire on the third use.
