Three days to find a water crossing that didn't exist

Spent an afternoon studying maps planning a route along the Rogue River in Oregon. There was a creek marked on the USGS map that I planned to cross at a certain spot. Got there after a full day of hiking and it was just a dry gully with poison oak everywhere. Had to backtrack 4 miles to find an actual water source.

Classic move. Spent three days looking for a creek that was basically a ghost. At least the poison oak was there to keep me company.

Man, that sucks. Poison oak is the worst travel buddy. Props for sticking it out though, better luck next time.
