Update: my water filter froze solid on the JMT last week
Camped at 10,500 feet near Reds Meadow and woke up to a Squeeze filter that was completely iced over, so I had to boil everything for 2 days until I could get down to Tuolumne. Lesson learned about sleeping with it in my bag, but the stove fuel ran low fast and it threw off my whole pace. Has anyone else dealt with a frozen filter mid trip, what did you switch to or do different?
