Bush sunflower patch outdraws my fancy feeder in 3 weeks
I put in a small patch of bush sunflowers last spring and the goldfinches ignore the tube feeder completely now. The feeder gets maybe 5 visits a day, the patch gets a dozen birds at once by 7am. Anyone else have better luck with native plants than with store bought feeders?

The bush sunflowers are just seasonal luck, your feeder works all year long.

Feeder birds are mostly just passing through, natives actually hold them year round.
