Finally realized my feeder was too close to the window after a goldfinch thumped into the glass
A Carolina wren kept banging into the same spot for three days before I noticed the reflection and moved the feeder six feet away, and now nobody's hitting the glass anymore.

Oh man, that's awesome you figured it out. I had the exact same thing happen with a house finch last spring... he kept smacking into the sliding glass door every morning for like a week before I caught on. Moved the feeder about ten feet away and hung a couple of those cheap window decals in the shape of leaves, and now it's like the glass is invisible to them. It's wild how such a small change can make a huge difference for the birds.

Yeah @spencer199, I had the same thing with a mockingbird last summer. Took me way too long to realize the decals actually work, I thought they were just for looks. I ended up moving the feeder closer to a bush so they had a place to chill before flying to it, and that helped a ton too.
