Kept a feeder list in a notebook for 4 years, then a 12 dollar app made me drop the pen

My buddy ran into the same thing with his fishing log. He had this beat up spiral notebook going back years, every catch written down, and his wife finally made him try some free app on his phone. Took him about two weeks to stop carrying the notebook around. What got him was being able to search stuff, like he could pull up every time he caught something in cold water or find his best spots on a map without flipping through pages. The notebook still sits in his truck though, he can't fully let it go. Said the app is faster but the pen and paper felt more real to him.
