Last Tuesday I had 17 goldfinches at my feeder at once and it felt like I won the bird lottery

They usually come in pairs or small groups, but this time a whole flock showed up during that cold snap and cleaned out my thistle feeder in under 3 hours, has anyone else ever seen a big gang like that hit at once?

Oh man, @xenar14, that coffee spill sounds like a rough way to end a streak. I've definitely been there where you're so focused on the count that everything else goes wrong. Spilling hot coffee on your lap is no joke, that stuff hurts and makes a huge mess. I hope you didn't burn yourself too bad and that the coffee stain comes out. It's one of those moments where you just have to laugh at the universe messing with you. Good luck cleaning up and getting back to your counting game when you're dry and coffee-free.
