My neighbor laughed at my native plant patch, then the warblers showed up
Last spring I ripped out a chunk of my lawn in Boise to put in goldenrod and milkweed for the birds. My neighbor Dave walked over and said, "Looks like you're growing weeds on purpose," with that smirk he does. I didn't argue, just told him to give it a few months. By September I counted 14 yellow-rumped warblers and 3 finches working those plants every morning, and Dave started asking what else he should plant. Has anyone else had a doubter flip after they saw the bird action in their own yard?
