My neighbor's suet advice backfired on 4 straight cardinals
Last spring my neighbor Bob swore I should switch to pure beef suet cakes because the birds would go nuts. He said the store-bought stuff with seeds was junk. I tried it for 3 weeks and the cardinals just sat on the fence staring at it, not touching it. Turns out the heat in mid-June melted the suet into a greasy mess that dripped all over my deck. I had to scrub that sticky residue off for a whole afternoon, and the starlings loved it anyway. Should I go back to the seed mix cakes or is there a better summer suet trick you all use, or do you just skip suet when it gets warm?

Man, you scrubbed your deck for one afternoon and now you're writing a whole essay about bird food?
