Neighbor called my bird bath a mosquito factory so I added a bubbler

Old guy two houses down stopped me while I was getting the mail and said my bird bath was basically a breeding ground. He wasn't wrong. I was just topping it off every few days. Picked up a little solar bubbler for $15 at Ace Hardware. Stagnant water is gone and now I'm getting warblers I never saw before. Has anyone tried those mosquito dunk things instead?

Oh man, that bubbler is a game changer. But yeah, the mosquito dunks work too. I had a buddy who tried them after his HOA got on him about his pond. He said he dropped one in and forgot about it for a month. The mosquitoes disappeared, but he also said his goldfish stopped being so jumpy and active. The dunks killed off all the little water bugs too, not just the mosquitoes. So your mileage may vary if you've got anything else living in that water.
