Neighbor lady yelled at me for not using a specialized feeder for finches

So last Tuesday I'm out on my porch just tossing some black oil sunflower seeds on the ground like normal, been doing it for years, and my neighbor from two houses down storms over looking all red in the face. She starts going off about how I'm wrecking the local finch population because they need a specific tube feeder with tiny ports to keep out the bigger birds. I stood there holding my coffee cup while she pointed at a goldfinch eating a seed off the grass and claimed that bird was gonna get sick from eating off the ground. She even pulled out her phone to show me a study from 2019 about feeder hygiene like I'd care about some article. I asked her if she thought birds forgot how to eat seeds before humans invented $25 plastic feeders, and she just turned around and walked off. Has anyone else dealt with backyard bird cops like this or is it just my street?

Maybe she's scared they'll evolve past needing her feeder and make her obsolete.
