That $30 hummingbird feeder was a waste, here's why

I bought one of those glass bottle feeders with the little red flowers on the bottom from a big box store last spring. It leaked like crazy every time I filled it, and the ants found it within a day no matter where I hung it. After three weeks of scrubbing mold out of the tiny crevices, I gave up and tossed it in the trash. I ended up spending another $18 on a simple saucer style feeder with a wide mouth, and that thing has been going strong for six months with zero leaks. Anybody else get burned by a fancy looking feeder that just caused headaches? What kind do you use that actually holds up?

My buddy bought the exact same one and spent a whole afternoon dodging hummingbirds while trying to wipe sticky syrup off his porch rails. He finally just drilled a hole in a plastic cup and hung it with wire, works perfect now lol.
