Vent: took me 6 weeks to figure out why my sunflower seeds kept going moldy

I keep a tube feeder in my backyard here in Austin and every time I filled it the seeds would get this nasty white fuzz after like 3 days. Threw out bag after bag. Finally my neighbor walks over and points out I was storing the seed bag in my garage where it gets hot and damp in the summer. Moved it to a dry spot in the house and now the seeds last weeks. Has anyone else dealt with feeder mold issues like this?

Got a buddy down in San Antonio who had the exact same problem with his thistle feeder. Left the bag in his shed all summer and it turned into a science experiment. He keeps it in his pantry now and hasn't had a problem since.

Yeah I learned that lesson the hard way too. I keep my nyjer in a sealed bin in the house now and it stays fresh way longer.
