Old barn wood gate finally stopped sagging after I tried this
My gate from 2021 kept dragging on the gravel no matter how much I tightened the hinges. I tried bigger screws, even a steel brace, but it still drooped by July. Then a neighbor in Boise said to swap the diagonal brace from the bottom hinge to the top latch corner, not the other way around. That one change fixed it in about 45 minutes and it's been level for two weeks now. The old brace was just pushing the frame the wrong direction. Has anyone else found that the angle of the diagonal matters more than the wood thickness?
