Almost lost a hen to heat stroke last Tuesday
Temps hit 102 here in Phoenix. I thought shade and a shallow dish would be enough. Came home to find my Buff Orpington panting real bad, comb all pale. Threw ice cubes in her water and misted her with a spray bottle. Took her 3 hours to perk back up. Now I freeze 2 liter bottles overnight and put them in the run. Anyone else deal with heat emergencies and have a better setup?

How long did you leave her in that heat before you found her?

Maybe the real issue is nobody checked on her till the neighbor heard something.
