Last Tuesday I opened the coop and found a hen sitting on 14 eggs like she'd been planning a heist for weeks

Turned out she'd been sneaking into a hidden corner of the run for about 10 days before I noticed, and now I have a broody hen who glares at me every time I reach for the eggs under her. Has anyone else had a chicken suddenly decide to go rogue and nest somewhere ridiculous?

I used to think chickens were too dumb for that kind of scheming, but now I'm convinced they're planning these little operations on purpose.

My friend Sarah had one of her silkies do this inside an old tractor tire they had sitting in the yard. She was wondering why this one chicken kept disappearing until she saw feathers poking up from the middle of the tire lol.
