My rooster crowed at 4am for a month straight until I tried this $5 fix

I live in Portland and had a rooster named Rusty who would start crowing at 4am every day like clockwork (drove my neighbor nuts). Last month I tried putting a rolled up towel in his coop roost area to block the light from the streetlamp, and he didn't start until 7am the next morning. Anyone else have a rooster who just hates the dark, or found another way to shift their crowing clock?

That towel trick is pretty smart honestly. My roo used to start at 3:30am and I tried a blackout curtain clipped over the roost area, shifted him to 6am. Light really seems to be the main trigger for most of them. Did you have to adjust the towel every few days?
