The week my rooster learned to open the coop door himself
Last spring I came out to find all 12 hens free ranging in the yard and the rooster standing right by the open door like he was waiting for applause. Took me three days to figure out he was hopping up and grabbing the latch with his beak. Has anyone else dealt with a bird that learned a specific trick you didn't teach them?

That bird probably watches you more than you watch him. Mine started untying my bootlaces after I spent an afternoon gardening in the same spot. Next thing you know, he'll be driving the truck to town for feed.

Had a rescue crow once, had to hide my keys for a month.
