I measured my tiny 12x14 patio and found out it could hold way more plants than I thought
Last weekend I was bored and actually got out the tape measure to figure out how many grow bags could fit on my little concrete patio out back. Turns out it's 12 feet by 14 feet, which is 168 square feet, and I had been treating it like it was barely big enough for two chairs. I sketched it out on graph paper and realized I could fit 9 five gallon fabric pots along the fence line alone if I staggered them instead of lining them up single file. I went from 4 sad pepper plants to a full layout that still leaves room to walk to the grill. Has anyone else mapped their yard on paper first, or do you just wing it and move stuff around until it fits?
