My raised garden bed looked sad for 2 years then I added 3 bags of worm castings

I built this cedar bed in spring 2022 and got maybe a dozen small tomatoes both seasons. Soil felt like concrete. Last October I mixed in some worm castings from a local nursery here in Austin and covered it with straw. This year my pepper plants are 4 feet tall and I'm drowning in zucchini. Anyone else had a simple soil change turn their whole garden around that fast?

Heard my friend Karen say worm castings turned her clay dirt into a jungle in months.

Yeah that's a stretch, worm castings help but they won't fix clay dirt that fast.
