PSA: my rain barrel overflowed during the storm on Tuesday and flooded the garage
I was out back watching the gutters dump water into the barrel I set up by the downspout. It had worked fine for two months, so I quit checking on it. Around 9pm Tuesday the connection between the barrel and the overflow hose popped loose. Water ran down the side and straight under the garage door. I spent an hour at 11pm with a push broom trying to move it out. Next morning I swapped the clamp for a metal one and ran the overflow hose six feet out into the yard. Also put a cinder block under the spout so the water doesn't blast the seal. Anyone got a better overflow setup that doesn't need me standing there in the rain?
