That neighbor's comment about my new shed actually got me thinking
My neighbor Bob saw me leveling the foundation for my 10x12 shed and said 'don't forget to leave room for the grass to breathe' - what does that even mean lol? Has anyone else gotten weird unsolicited advice from a neighbor that turned out to be oddly helpful?

Honestly, I think your neighbor might have been talking about leaving a gap between the shed and the grass so air can circulate underneath. You don't want moisture building up down there and rotting the floor out. Tbh, that's actually solid advice for a wooden shed.

Yeah I used to think you should just set a shed right on the ground and call it done. Never really considered the moisture problem until my buddy's floor rotted out after a few years. Makes a lot of sense now though, that gap would let the air dry things out underneath.
