The $12 bag of sand that saved my crooked paver patio

I spent two weekends trying to level a section of my patio with a tamper and gravel mix and it still looked like a roller coaster. My neighbor saw me cursing and said just sweep dry polymeric sand into the cracks and hose it down. I thought he was nuts but it locked everything together perfectly and now the whole thing is flat. Has anyone else had a simple fix like that totally bail them out of a headache?

I read that poly sand works like magic on patios too, a real lifesaver for crooked pavers.

Angela says it's magic, and that's about right. I followed the same advice from a guy at the hardware store and thought he was pulling my leg. But after a few rain showers, those pavers didn't budge. It's funny how something so cheap and simple can fix what you spent days overcomplicating. Guess sometimes the easy answer is the right one, even if it makes you feel a little foolish.
