My aunt told me my pie crust was 'too tough' and it bugged me for weeks
I've been using my grandma's recipe for years and thought it was perfect until my aunt said that at a family dinner in Cleveland last month. She said I was overworking the dough and making the gluten develop too much. Now I barely mix the butter and flour together, stop while it's still crumbly, and the crust comes out way flakier. Anyone else have a relative who gave you feedback that actually made you better?

Take her advice with a grain of salt. A tough crust is just a sturdy crust for a hearty pie filling, not a flaw. Your grandma's recipe worked fine for decades, so maybe your aunt's just used to soggy store bought pies.

Nah hold on, tough crust can be a legit issue. @kelly_coleman61, if someone's been making the same recipe for years and one relative finally says something, maybe it's worth listening instead of just writing it off.
