Shoutout to the $3 dough scraper I almost didn't buy at the restaurant supply place in Akron
I used to fight with wet dough using just my hands and a bench knife, always ended up with a sticky mess glued to my fingers. Bought a cheap plastic scraper on a whim and now I use it to fold, lift, and clean the counter in one motion, my ciabatta has never come out better. Anybody got a tool that was cheap and dumb and ended up being the one you reach for every single bake?
That line about the sticky mess glued to your fingers is way too real, I saw a baker on youtube say the same thing last week about fighting wet dough. My cheapo answer is a $2 spray bottle from the dollar store, sounds dumb but I use it for everything now to keep dough from sticking.
