Shoutout to the time I tried to make a giant cookie cake

I mean, I saw a picture online and thought, how hard could it be? I used my normal chocolate chip recipe but tripled it and baked it in a 14 inch pizza pan. It came out looking like a giant, crispy brown frisbee after 40 minutes. I learned that cookie dough spreads way more when it's that thick in the middle. Has anyone else tried this and gotten it to stay soft and chewy?

Oh man, that's the story of my life with Pinterest recipes. It always looks so easy online, then you end up with a kitchen disaster. I feel like that happens with any project that seems simple at first.

Did I accidentally find a new use for my cookie as a doorstop? Because that's basically what I ended up with. My giant cookie looked like it had been through a desert without sunscreen for a week. I thought maybe underbaking it would help, so I tried again and pulled it out after 20 minutes. Yeah, raw dough in the middle, burnt edges on the outside. Turns out there is a magic zone where it stays soft and I have not found it yet.
