Hit 500 sourdough loaves this morning and finally had a lightbulb moment

I keep a counter on my phone, just a simple tally app. This morning I baked my 500th loaf since I started in March 2020. That number hit me harder than I expected. The first 100 were dense bricks and borderline frisbees, but somewhere around loaf 350 I stopped fighting the dough and started reading it. At what loaf count did things finally click for you? I need to know if I'm slow or right on track.

Man, 500 loaves is a serious milestone, congrats. For me it was around loaf 200 when I stopped obsessing over the timer and started trusting my hands and eyes, the dough just tells you when it's ready. You're not slow at all, everyone's clock is different and that lightbulb moment usually shows up right when you stop forcing it.
