My aunt's pie crust advice finally clicked after 3 tries
For years I struggled with dry, crumbly pie dough. My aunt kept telling me to use ice water and handle it as little as possible, but I thought I knew better. Last month I finally followed her exact method, using a pastry cutter and stopping the second it came together. The crust came out flaky and tender for the first time. I baked two more pies last week and got the same results. Has anyone else had a family member's tip turn out to be the real secret?

Wait, did you seriously just discover that ice water and less handling actually works? lol. It took me way too long to figure this out myself because I thought my grandma was just being dramatic about it. The pastry cutter is a game changer too, I used to use my hands and the warmth just ruined everything. I love that you stuck with it for three tries, most people would give up after one dry crust. It's kinda funny how we think we know better than the people who have been doing it for decades right? Now you're probably gonna be the family member giving pie advice to someone else in ten years lol.
