My sourdough starter took 9 days before it finally doubled

I kept feeding it every morning at 7am with 50g flour and 50g water, and for over a week it just sat there with a few tiny bubbles. I almost tossed it, thinking I got a bad bag of flour from the bulk bin at my local co-op. Then on day 9, after I moved it to a warmer spot near my radiator in Portland, it went crazy and rose past the rubber band I marked. Has anyone else had a starter that suddenly woke up late, or did I just get lucky with the temperature change?
