That bakery in Portland ruined cake pops for me forever
Visited this trendy bakery on Hawthorne last month and their "gourmet" cake pop was $4.50 but tasted like stale biscuit dipped in wax. Has anyone else noticed these bakeries charging premium prices for what is basically leftovers on a stick?

oh man, you're not wrong that a lot of these places are overpriced, but i gotta say that specific bakery actually does make their cake pops from scratch in house. my cousin worked there for a bit and she said they use leftover cake scraps but then mix in fresh buttercream and roll them by hand. still $4.50 is ridiculous for something that small, i agree with you there.

Man that's a bummer, nothing worse than paying that much for something that doesn't even hit the spot. Hope you find a decent one somewhere else soon.
