Appreciation post for the bank teller who caught a fake $100 bill last Tuesday
I was at my local Chase branch in Nashville last week getting out some cash for a flea market trip. The teller held up a $100 bill under this little black light thing and just squinted at it for a solid 10 seconds. She told me the serial number was a known counterfeit format some local scammers have been using. I had no idea tellers did that kind of check on the spot, pretty wild. Has anyone else seen a fake bill slip through at your own bank?

Oh shoot, I actually think most banks do that check for all bills, not just hundreds! They hold everything under those little counterfeit detectors.

Yeah for real, I didn't realize that either until a teller checked my twenties once and I felt so dumb (but also relieved they're thorough).
