Chose a small credit union over a big national bank last year
Everyone I know said I was dumb for leaving Chase. They pointed at the app, the ATMs everywhere. Picked a local credit union in Portland that offers 3.25% on savings instead. Took me a week to get used to the clunky mobile check deposit. But then my car needed a $2,400 repair. Chase would have charged me a fee for a personal loan. Credit union gave me a 4.5% rate no questions asked. Has anyone else dumped a major bank for something smaller and found it worth the hassle?

My friend Mike got 3.9% last year on a used Civic and still brags about it every time we get gas.
