Just found out my bank charges $3 for paper statements every month
I was looking at my checking account details last night and noticed a $3 fee labeled 'paper statement fee'. Honestly I had no idea that was even a thing. I called my bank and they said it's been in place since 2021 for anyone who gets mailed statements instead of digital ones. That's $36 a year just for someone to print and mail a piece of paper. Has anyone else run into this kind of fee and found a way to get it waived?

omg my dentist does something similar except they charge me $5 if I don't show up for a cleaning. I forgot about my appointment last month and woke up to a $5 charge on my card. But the weird part was they mailed me a paper bill about it which cost them a stamp and envelope. So they spent money to tell me I owed them money. Banks are all the same though. They just add random fees and hope nobody notices. You should ask them to waive it since you never agreed to it when you opened the account.

Is it too late for me to fake a dentist appointment to save $5?

@uma306 that's actually pretty funny about the stamp costing more than the fee. But wait @wilson.emma if you fake a dentist appointment wouldn't you have to actually go to the dentist to avoid the charge? That defeats the whole purpose of saving 5 bucks. Did you ask your bank if they'd let you out of it since you clearly didn't agree to it?
