My bank manager changed my whole mindset about overdraft fees
I used to think overdraft fees were just a scam to squeeze money out of people. But after I got hit with 3 in one month at my Chase branch in Austin, I went in to yell at the manager Sarah. She sat me down and showed me exactly how my spending patterns triggered them - I was treating my debit card like a credit card and not tracking my balance right. I guess having someone actually walk through the numbers with me made it click. Anyone else ever had a banker change your view on something you hated?

Spent a whole year blaming my bank for overdraft charges before realizing I was just using my debit card at 2am after a few too many beers. Turned out I was the scam all along.

Doesn't that just mean the bank found a way to make you feel grateful for getting charged fees you shouldn't have had to pay in the first place? I still think it's a scam, just one they're really good at making you feel stupid about.
