My debit card got blocked at a gas station in Phoenix because of a weird fraud alert

I was trying to pay for gas at a Circle K on 7th Street when my card got declined. My bank, Chase, sent a text saying they flagged it as suspicious activity because I was 300 miles from home. I had to call their 800 number right there at the pump to confirm it was me. Has anyone else had their card frozen just for traveling within the same state?

Chase froze my card last year just driving from Tucson to Flagstaff.

Seriously? That's just Chase being way too jumpy. A three hour drive shouldn't set off the alarms like that. Their fraud system must be set to panic over any little trip.
