My local credit union's online bill pay went from instant to 3 days
I paid my electric bill through their site on Monday and it didn't clear until Thursday, which almost got me a late fee. The teller said a new fraud filter is holding payments for review. Has your bank's bill pay gotten slower this year?

Oh man, that's the worst. They roll out a new "security feature" and suddenly it's like mailing a check by carrier pigeon. My bank did something similar, calling it an upgrade while making everything slower. Guess they're really taking their time to make sure my $35 water bill isn't part of a global money laundering scheme. What's the point of online pay if it moves at paper check speed?

Right? The carrier pigeon line got me. They act like every payment is some international spy transfer. My bank's "upgrade" made me verify my identity so many times I forgot who I was paying.

Yeah, "carrier pigeon" is exactly how it feels now. @terrymitchell hit it on the head, they act like my light bill is funding a jet. Might as well just mail a check at this point, at least that's honest about how slow it is.
