Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he uses cash for everything and it got me thinking

I was grabbing a coffee last Tuesday and this older dude was telling his friend he hasn't used a debit card in 5 years. He said he budgets by pulling out $200 every Monday and when it's gone, it's gone. That hit me because I've been chasing credit card points and cash back for years, but I still overspend every month. I looked at my last statement and I paid $47 in interest alone. Maybe having a hard limit like cash would actually stop me from swiping without thinking. Has anyone else tried going back to cash for daily spending?

Honestly, that "when it's gone, it's gone" approach sounds stressful to me. I get the appeal of a hard limit but $47 in interest could be avoided by just paying your card off every month, which feels easier than carrying cash around.

Consider how often cash gets lost or stolen too @oscar_hunt61.
