Paid $35 for a budgeting app and it actually saved my overdraft fees

I used to just wing it with my checking account balance and kept getting hit with $34 overdraft fees every couple months. Finally downloaded YNAB after my buddy kept pushing it. Tracked every dollar for 3 months straight. Haven't had a single overdraft since and I actually know where my money goes now. Has anyone else had luck with a paid app over free ones?

Good for you, sticking with it for three months. That is the real trick. Most people give up after a week because it feels like a chore. The paid apps tend to have better support and tutorials, which makes a big difference when you are first starting out. Free ones can work but you have to be more disciplined on your own.

You mentioned "most people give up after a week" - what do you think makes that three month mark the turning point for the ones who actually stick with it?
