Rant: That moment the bank app froze mid-transfer on rent day
I was standing in my kitchen at 6 PM on the 1st trying to send $1,200 to my landlord when the app just hung there. Had to call the 800 number and wait 20 minutes while the payment went through twice. Anybody have a backup method that actually works when the app glitches?

Totally been there, except my app didn't just freeze it straight up crashed and I had to explain to my landlord that I wasn't trying to pull a fast one, I was just technologically incompetent under pressure. Have you tried the bill pay thing though? Saved my sanity, even if my landlord now thinks I'm a boomer who still uses stamps.

nope nope nope that exact thing happened to me back in march except it was different because the app let me hit submit multiple times thinking it failed. ended up paying rent three times and my landlord thought i was either rich or having a breakdown. the trick nobody talks about is using your bank's actual bill pay system not the transfer feature. like the one where they mail a paper check for you. sounds old school i know but it processes differently than the instant transfer stuff and has never once glitched on me. plus you can schedule it like a week before and it arrives exactly on the 1st. just make sure your landlord is okay with a physical check sometimes they get weird about it.
