Realized I was ignoring payment notifications for billing errors for three straight months
I used to just glance at my business account notifications and move on. Then last March I noticed a recurring charge from a vendor that looked off. I dug into it and found out I was being double-billed $47.28 every single week for 12 weeks. That added up to over $560 I could have caught way earlier. Now I check every single alert and match them to my records. Has anyone else found a simple way to track these without going crazy?

Did you ever check if the double billing was an honest mistake or if it kept happening after you called them? I ask because I had a similar situation with a utility provider. They kept saying they fixed it but the error came back two months later. I finally had to set a calendar reminder for every Monday morning to do a quick 10 minute scan of all my recent transactions. That has helped me spot issues within a few days instead of letting them pile up.

Dig into whether the vendor actually fixed their system or just refunded that one batch, @simonbell? Those automation errors usually come back harder than you think.
