That $37 "contactless payment" app fee that got me at a gas station in Ohio
Stopped at a Shell off I-70 last Tuesday, phone was dying so I used some app that claimed to let you pay at the pump without pulling out a card. Turns out it adds a $37 convenience fee plus a $2.50 service charge, and I didn't see it until after the transaction went through. Called my bank and they said it's a third-party thing, not fraudulent. Anyone else get burned by those QR code pump apps or is this just me being too trusting?

$37 convenience fee" sounds like you clicked through a shady popup without reading.
