The 3-2-1 rule for splitting payments saved me $200 last quarter
I kept hitting overdraft because my mortgage, utilities, and subscriptions all hit within the same 5 days. My bank's app lets me split direct deposits between checking and savings, so I set 60% to checking and 40% to savings. Then I scheduled auto-transfers from savings back to checking on slow weeks. Just a simple shift in timing, no fancy budgeting tools. Has anyone else tried staggering due dates through their bank's bill pay settings?

lol this is so painfully relatable it hurts. I swear my bank times everything to hit at once just to mess with me. I tried the "just shift due dates" thing too but half my bills don't let me pick the date, they just take it whenever they feel like it apparently. So basically I'm just hoping my paycheck lands before the bank decides to charge me another $35 for existing.

Man, is it really that bad though? I mean yeah overdraft fees suck but it's not like your bank personally hates you, they just run on autopilot like everyone else. Half the time people act like a $35 fee is a major life crisis when it's literally just a notification you can ignore for a day or two.
