Hit 1000 fades in my logbook and the number kinda blew my mind

Started tracking every cut last January, mostly to remember what worked for each client. Anyone else keep a detailed service log, or is that just me being extra?

My spreadsheet has 847 beard trims logged since March.

Wait, isn't a fade a type of haircut? So you're logging haircuts, not just fades, right? That number makes more sense if it's all your cuts.

Look, I've been keeping a detailed haircut log since 2019 (I'm at 1,243 total cuts now) and I can tell you that fades specifically make up about 73% of my entries. The rest are scissor cuts, trims, and the occasional buzz when I'm too lazy to maintain a fade. So yeah, if someone's just tracking fades, 847 seems really high unless they're going every 5 days or something. But for total haircuts? That number is very doable over a long stretch, especially if you factor in home cuts during lockdowns (I did 47 myself during that weird time). Your point about logging all haircuts makes way more sense though - nobody is getting 847 pure fades unless they're a professional model or something.
