I finally stopped shaving with a dull blade after 8 years
Was doing a fade on a regular last Tuesday and he asked why I was pressing so hard on the clippers. Checked my blade and it was dragging something awful, switched it out and the cut took half the time. Anyone else just get used to fighting their tools instead of swapping parts?

Saw a barber on YouTube talking about how most guys use dull tools and just muscle through it, like it's a badge of honor or something. Makes no sense when blades are cheap and take two seconds to swap. Once you feel the difference on a clean cut, it's hard to go back to struggling. Good on you for catching it mid-fade though, that could've been a rough finish for the client. What made you finally check, just the pressure thing?
