Just realized I was sharpening my shears wrong for months
I was trying to fix a pull on my right-handed 6.5 inch shears and spent 3 hours last Tuesday before I finally got the angle right. Anyone else have a go-to sharpening method for left-handed tools?

Sharpening left-handed tools is a whole different ball game because the bevel is reversed. Most guides are written for right-handed people, so you have to mirror everything. It's frustrating but once you get the hang of it, it clicks.

Ever try just sharpening on the other side of the stone? I'm right-handed, but I had to learn to sharpen a left-handed paring knife at work. I kept messing up until I switched my stance and held the stone the opposite way. It felt wrong for a week, but then my hands just learned the new angle. Sometimes you have to ignore the guide and find what your own hands need to do.

But honestly it's the same basic motion either way.
